Join us as we re-think what technology can do. As an Engineering Manager for Procurement, you will be a key driving force in building the delivery engine with internal staff and delivering key procurement initiatives.
The role encompasses building Tech capabilities across various skills in India and Europe, scaling faster while building a high-performance engineering team and be responsible for delivering with quality while ensuring the scalability & maintainability of current and future solutions. The role will require you to actively collaborate with Product Owners, Delivery leads and Solution architects together with technology personnel from other platforms. You will be accountable for delivery excellence, customer delight, and employee satisfaction within the product team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Build a high performance team and scale our Procurement Engineering capability
  • Manage the Procurement engineering capabilities with functional and technical engineers across multiple technologies
  • Deliver procurement engineering changes covering both functional and technical aspects
  • Work in an agile environment with business product owners, architects, developers/engineers and data scientists in executing on prioritized backlog
  • Manage and follow product backlog, including prioritization of needs, creation of backlog items and mapping out dependencies in collaboration with users and customers
  • Maintain leadership in the development of delivery standards and architectural governance
  • Enable high quality of solution delivery ensuring design is followed during build and support
  • Evaluate product progress accountable for each stage of the development process and the final product. Inspect and evaluate product progress at each iteration, determine whether final product is acceptable. Performance of product in general, includes example value delivery, user satisfaction, performance of the support process, compliance, cost, stability of the product and deployment/roll-out performance.
Who we are looking for:
You have:
  • Proven agile delivery experience in a variety of technologies/business domains, with experience of waterfall delivery models as an Engineering Manager
  • Proven track record of working with senior business stakeholders and delivering on business outcomes through technology
  • Experience of delivering end2end business process solutions
  • Experience/knowledge of deploying automated solutions using diverse technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc
  • Software engineering background and experience of: Python, Javascript, SQL / No SQL, Vuejs, Reactjs, Nodejs in an Azure cloud environment
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and developing teams spread across multiple geographies
  • Adaptability and leadership of teams in ambiguous situations
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate the technically complex to be understood by both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Good problem solving, analytical & communication skills. Ability to work in demanding situations
Ideally, you will have (*)
  • Experience of working in the Procurement arena and have a broad understanding of Source2Pay technologies
  • Prior experience of working for shipping and logistics industry is an advantage
Although experience of procurement is desirable, training and orientation to Maersk procurement would be provided where necessary
